Local Bird Walks Are Back!

Local bird walks are resuming all over Southern California, led by the Los Angeles Audubon Society. Visit their bird walks page for a complete listing.

Wild Birds Unlimited's Julie Hanson will be leading the bird walks in Will Rogers State Historical Park, every third Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Please RSVP to: 310-922-8153. There will be no bird walks in June and July. 

Here's the current schedule for walks on the Westside.

Every first Saturday of the month, 9 a.m. to noon, Open Wetlands at Ballona Salt Marsh. RSVP required to [email protected]. Meet at Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve, 300 block of Culver Blvd. in Playa del Rey. Enter through the gate at the northeast corner of the parking lot behind Alkawater/Gordon’s Market

Every third Saturday of each month 8 a.m. to noon, Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area, 4100 South La Cienega Boulevard, Leader: Ann and Eric Brooks. Meet at the first parking lot on the left after the entry kiosk (sign says "Olympic Forest").  $6 for parking.

Every third Sunday, 8 to 10 a.m., Beginner's Bird Walk at Will Rogers State Historical Park, led by Julie Hanson of Wild Bird Unlimited and Jane Klein. Meet at the picnic tables at the far (east) end of the parking lot. Parking $4 per hour. RSVP required by text to 310-922-8153.
